If
its a Sea side holiday you want, then
this is the place to go. The water is so clear
you would not know it was there. The snorkelling
is just marvellous and it consists of water
sports of all kinds. I have only been to Hurghada
and that was some 7 years ago,so things would
have changed now. |
 |
Hurghada is a small town,
so of a night I had somewhere to go,but now
with further developments going on some of the
resorts are some way from the town so they are
little complexes on their own. But if you only
want to relax and enjoy the water and don't
mind just staying around the hotel at night, don't
worry about it the days in the sun will compensate
for it.

I stayed at the Sonesta and had no complaints what
so ever and actually they could not do enough for us. But remember
it does not matter where you go someone will complain. All the Hotels
have everything that you could want to enjoy yourself while you
are there. |
 |
One thing to remember if you are thinking of going
to the Red Sea is that it will not rain,if you are unlucky to have
some rain it will not mess your holiday up as it will be gone as
quick as it came. I lived in the region for two years and it only
rained once for 5 minutes.

El Gouna and Sharm El Sheikh
I have never been to either of these places
I must make a point of doing so I have only
heard good reports .The Sheraton
Miramar at El Gouna is, as I hear very
nice and at sunset, the setting is fantasic.
Sharm lives up to what you would expect from
a seaside destination. Lovely beaches and
water sports not to be beaten anywhere. I
must pay a visit.

| Dahab
|
The coast of Sinai Peninsula and especially city
of Dahab is recently becoming a new paradise for divers and tourists
searching for a place for resting. Dahab used to be a little town
inhabited by Bedouins surrounded with brown woodpecker trees and
brown hills just few years ago. In spite of incredible increase
in number of visitors in recent years, Dahab still keeps its own
typical Bedouins face with little shops and bazaars. Probably
the largest attraction which can not be found in any other place
are the beach restaurants where you can perfectly relax for entire
days of your stay in Dahab. Dahab is located on the eastern coast
of Sinai, approximately 90 km from Sharm El Sheik airport, 150
km from Israeli Eliat and 600 km from Cairo (just 8 hours journey
by air-conditioned bus).

There are many more diving clubs around the
Red Sea to many for me to mention this is only an insight as what
is available |
MY OVERALL VIEW OF THE RED SEA
It is very hot
as you might expect so make sure you take
lots of sun tan lotion, you will get a good
tan. All the water sports are available, there
was a submarine there when we went, what a
experience. The sea food that is on offer
is next to none the only trouble is that you
tend to pig out,who cares anyway. The airport
is only minutes away so not much time wasted
on that score. If you go via Luxor it is about
4 hours by road across the desert it will
done early morning so it will not be to hot.
I have never heard anyone complain about any
of the resorts they are only full of praise.
Go for it
